Today’s entry comes from my pal Louise Taylor, who nominates the Netflix series, Beef, that was released earlier this year.
Beef stars Steven Yeun (Menari, Nope) and comedienne Ali Wong (Always be my maybe, Big Mouth), as two strangers who meet as a result of a road rage incident.
I’ll let Louise take it from here:
Beef was an emotional rollercoaster, and I sobbed at the ending both times I’ve watched it. I love a show/film that blitzes through genres – this was a revenge thriller, a heist movie, a foreign language family drama introducing you to multiple other cultures, a love story/ies, a psychological horror, and a mystical quest all in one show.
Ali Wong and Steven Yeun were amazing leads. The characters were rich and nuanced and you just wanted everyone to work their shit out so bad – but they just kept fucking it all up, in the way real humans do.
