3. Last Christmas finally makes No 1. after 35 years
…And Andrew Ridgeley is really lovely about it. According to BBC Breakfast, classic festive songs enter the charts as streaming is taken into account are all thanks to ‘Play Christmas hits, Alexa’. BUT a song would have to be streamed 200 TIMES to count for one entry. So the Wham success was thanks to the fans who paid that 99p to download the song. Nice work!
4. Harry Styles & Phoebe Waller-Bridge have made a music video together.
5. This Panettone pudding recipe exists.
The author Libby Page drew my attention to this on Twitter. It’s a BBC Food recipe and I made on New Years and it was THE BEST.
6. Staged is back tonight!
Of all of the lockdown media, this is probably my favourite. David Tennent and Michael Sheen play exaggerated versions of themselves. It’s so good, so funny, and if it’s anything like the first series, will have some unexpected cameos.
7. The Oatmeal always makes me laugh
and this is no exception. Also it’s completely accurate.
8. It was Florence Pugh’s birthday!
I love her. She’s great in everything. Her instagram is full of cooking videos and most recently in The Father Of The Bride reunion. She turned 25 yesterday. Happy (belated) birthday, Florence!
Yep, consider me a Bridgerton-stan. It’s fluffy, it’s gossipy and it was the perfect viewing during the Christmas/New Year lull. I particularly liked it because It digs under the surface of subjects raised in Austen/Bronte. (how brutal that marriage market is, how unprepared women were for the realities of marriage etc). I did guess the twist but it didn’t make it any less fun for me. Looking forward to more.
