Everything is terrible BUT…
It’s….been quite a week. If you need a bit of a rest from it all, here’s 10 nice things to look at. (Sunday 14th March, 2021)
- Adam Driver and Lady Gaga are making a film which involves Adam Driver wearing a very nice jumper. (Her hat is pretty cool too). This was take from the set of House of Gucci, which they’re currently filming together. You can read more about the film here.
2. These Frida Kahlo pots. I bought the green ones a couple of weeks ago and they now live in my kitchen. They are from George’s Whitstable stores and can be purchased here.
3. Dolly Parton gets the Vaccine! Considering she gave money to fund Covid research, this is especially pleasing.
4. This amazing teacher in Middlesbrough who knitted her class Shrek hats.
5. Oscar nominations are out tomorrow! Because of Everything, it’s going to be really interesting year for nominations. One of the films expected to do well is Nomadland (featuring Frances McDormand pictured above). The nominations will be streamed here on YouTube at 1.30pm UK time.

7. Palm Springs finally gets a UK release date! I was lucky enough to see this early and it’s a funny, brilliant film. It stars Cristin Milioti (How I met your mother) and Andy Samberg (Saturday night Live) as a couple who meet at a wedding and find themselves stuck in a time loop. I loved it as it’s new take on the Groundhog Day trope. It comes to Amazon Prime on April 9th.
8. Speaking of film release dates….In the Heights is coming to the UK sooner than planned! In the Heights was the musical that Lin-Manuel Miranda created before Hamilton. I’ve been lucky enough to see the stage version a couple of times and i’m really excited about the film. It’s due to come to cinemas on 30th July.
9. Theatre is coming back! We’re coming up to the one year anniversary of when theatre (and other things) had to close. However, this past year has seen announcements of the first shows coming back. Including a new writing season from producer Sonia Friedman. You can read more about the plays featured here.
10. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is almost here! It’s coming on Friday and I can’t wait!
